Seat removal

    I need to take out my front seats, how do I do this so I do not set up the airbags? this is on an 02 wrx

    Disconnect the battery. Take the seat out.

    just a guess here but I would think, disconnect battery, unplug harness to seat, remove bolts.

    i just took my front seat out. didn't even unplug the battery lol. unbolt, unplug, remove.

    Don't you read the manuals? It always starts with "Disconnect terminal from battery" on changing bulbs, stereos, oil change, pumping gas....

    On some cars (not the 02 WRX as far as I know) if you disconnect any part of the airbag system with the battery connected, the computer will store a code and throw a light that has to be reset at the dealer and they have to, by law, do a full airbag diagnostic. So disconnecting the battery is a good idea.

    i did the resistor trick in the plug so the system is still on

    and people on here make fun of the guys who remove the factory wheel and put in an after-market airbag-less one, and Carl disconnects his....

    I put in an aftermarket seat so I disconnected the seat plug - the system is functional except for the sensor in the seat

    put in a corbeau fx1 pro. yea I still have the sti seat, not sure if i'll sell it or not
