i put in a pair of tein s tech springs in my car this week and i figured that i would need a new pair of shocks sooner or later and was wondering if any body new of some good shocks ( a specific type that would go the best with my springs) and were i could find some thanks
Assuming Tein springs lower the car the same as Eibach prokit springs, you should check into KYB shocks: GR2 or the better known adjustable AGXs. A couple years back, KYB stated that they will warrant their struts to Eibach prokit spring drop rates but no lower. They are not very expensive, but they are well made and I havn't heard any complaints on the boards about any defects.
you can actaully get the KYB AGX shocks from teh dealership (so we get money off). the AGX shocks are 8 way adjustable i believe, they should be perfect for any type of drop spring, or other street suspension. i have heard (i think i made a thread about the AGX before, try and find it) that some people used the AGXs on their rally cars and they held up to the abuse REAL well. i think my next suspension set up will be drop spirng / coilover on AGXs, or else a set of tien coilovers.
yep there is a part number. it was like just under 500 for 4 AGX for a GC. check the BP parts thread i asked brian about it a while back.
Get the AGX. the GR2s are a poor excuse for an "Upgrade" they're basically identical to stock but gas charged. they will last a little longer than stocks, but they will blow. Soon.
I rechecked the part# on that... It should be SOA837Z1100(98-01 Impreza) ~Thats the SPT Performance strut set, Dont know about the KYB AGX stuff. It looks like they would be about 460.00 plus tax
