Short Shifter Question

    This may sound like a rediculously fumb duck question and i am already blushing as i am writing this. Today i was driving my 5spd audi and blah blah and then i had to go back out so i took the sti, and it was really wierd cuz i havent driven it in a couple of day and the shifts seemed alot shorter, soooooooo my uber embarrassing questions it: Does the 04sti come with a short throw stock? and i guess if not, whats the best bang for the buck short throw shift kit?

    thanks and uh, il go start ripping out my leg hair....

    The short throw shift is an option from the factory.

    The shifter is a dealer installed option.

    I have a kartboy SS and bushing. I will ad the TIC bushings next time I have the tranny out.

    The STi has a shorter throw than the Audi? Why does that make you think it is a "short throw"? I could have put a "short throw" in my old 87 Sentra and it still wouldn't have been as short as the STi... "Short throw" is relative...

    My 6 cylinder makes 1250 lb/ft of torque.
    The stock STI has a fairly short throw to begin with. However, there is a short throw shift kit from Subaru that reduces the throws even more.
