Short shifter?

Changing the CD player on my 2006 wrx and seen this and was wondering if this is a factory short shifter?

 

Looks factory. As in oem normal throw.

 

Ah. When Nuke drove my car when he tuned it he said it felt like a short throw. And with the "S" stamped on it I thought maybe it stood for "short".

 

And I found a thread on Nasioc saying one that looked like mine was a short throw. But I never trust what I read there. That's why I asked here lol.

 

yeah thats the factory oem short shifter option.

 

Thanks. I kind of thought it was just from the searches I did, but wasn't for sure. Wanted to make sure it was before I spent the money on one just to find out I already had one lol.

 

The "S" stands for Sssssuper Sssssspecial Ssssssshifter.

I believe mine looks like this as well. I was told it was a short throw when i bought it but have not confirmed. The guy was probably BSing me.

 

I can tell you my OEM non-short throw does NOT look like that.

P.S. While image searching for "03 wrx short throw" I ran into a picture of my own car!

 

That OEM RS one looks like what came in my '07 wrx.
