so im stuck in a corner, I have the vf34,pinks,pump, tbe, uppipe, and cobb ap base map installed, I want more power but im not looking to go drag race or street race, just some more umph, so here are my options, tell me what to do or suggest something new....buy an sti short, keep the turbo, get it tuned and push my car to the limit.......keep my engine, buy a fp 18 or 20g (if cobb has map) and protune it).....keep everything and just get a protune(most bang for buck?) tell me what to do......????

ps( I don not want a FMIC, my oversized TMIC is good for me, I like playing in the elements

if you decide to keep the VF34, my first suggestion would be to get bigger injectors.
A shortblock is nice, but a VF34 will give you virtually the same gains as a VF39 which is standard for an STi stock. With that setup, you'd basicly be an STi stage2, which while fast, isn't really worth your money.
If you are going the STi route, the 20G is pretty much the best match for that motor in terms of drivability. Spools nice and fast, gives good topend and midrange, but isn't super laggy.

My vote is coilovers > more power.

oh, rock on. Thank god that thing is gone, heh. I can give you a hand with getting that all in, no problem dude.

I ordered an entire new engine harness for my car, and I'm gonna talk to mark about helping me get that in. I really dont think its as much a problem with the maf as with botched up wiring.

I talked to the sooby techs at the meet on sat, and they said all that mismatched wiring and solder could easily throw off the mafs enough for them to not read correctly. They also said the only fix is an entire new engine harness. Picked one up from suby_speed on rs25 for 60 bucks shipped ;)

Whats your block right now? 2.0? Pinks(injectors), and the walboro pump will be adeqate enough...Jason and I have a similiar setup except his has the FMIC and I have a bigger TMIC.

Your fine with your current block assuming it is a 2.0 stock block with the VF34 with your fuel delivery and TBE/uppipe. If you get 2.5 shortblock you will see a significate increase in the torque over the 2.0 and quicker spool with the VF34, as Jason said...Be similiar to the vf39 output (HP/TQ) with the 2.5 shortblock.

Yes, that is correct. If you want to pull the potential out of the vf34, you will need something bigger than pinks. Pinks are close, but you will be maxing them out. I can hook ya up with something a little bigger (or alot bigger), just let me know.
