So my wife was parking our RS today and she side-swiped a concrete pillar... Most of it scratched down to the primer, but right along the creases of the door panel it is down to the bare metal. Also the wheel well panel where it meets the door has a nasty dent in it along with the door itself along the upper body line. The rear bumper is scratched down to the plastic in a few places too... I'm thinking I will take it to Morries Minnetonka Subaru for a quote this week. They did good work for me last time. Bummer... She wants to get a bigger car next too... lol. Yeah, my apartment building's parking area is narrow so it's close every time you pull in. It also doesn't have much room to swing wide into the spot so you go in straighter. I really don't want to park outside... The damage isn't terrible, I'm just worried about rust in that area. Maybe it means I should join the fender rolling party this summer.
I feel for ya guy, and it made me smile to see. My wife did the same thing, only she knew she was rubbing the pillar and thought it was covered with something that wouldn't hurt the car! Yep, that's the same women that thought our new van had those radar distance beepers on the back and FRONT, then proceeded to drive into my WRX waiting for the beeps. Somethings I will never understand... Good luck with getting her fixed, the car not the wife.
And you married her. Zing! It's always sorry to see a Subaru get beat up...at least when you're not doing it on purpose. It should hopefully only be a few hundred bucks to fix up. So far I've had a roommate back into my car with his truck cracking the grill and another roommate breaking my center cupholder not understanding how it worked. I'm just glad I've had no body damage, not one ding or scratch on any of the sheet metal to date. ....and now I just jinked myself.
Sounds like roommates may be tougher to deal with than wives! Not sure how you jink yourself, but you may not want to do that in public:biggrin:
You should give her a refresher reverse parking training. Otherwise you don't want her to reverse park the car after you get it repaired.
