I just purchased a 03 WRX wagon that's blue with orange wheels and exhaust. It hit a deer on the passenger front. Is anyone familiar with this car? It has some aftermarket stuff on it and I am curious as to the details I don't see.

    ???

I drove it a very short amount and it seems to have more power than stock. I seems like it has more than just the exhaust would give you. So I am concerned that there is something different with the engine internally or something different with the engine management. I just want to know.

Did you buy the car from a dealer or a private seller. I would ask who ever you got the car from what had been done to it.

You could bring it to firestone sometime. Lots of knowledgeable people meet there on friday night and could poke around on it for you.

It might just have a tune

Exhaust + tune will give you a lot in a WRX. And tuning can be done using stock ECM.

I bought the car from an insurance auction. I have to do some digging to see if I can come up with the previous owner. What has got me the most curious is that it has a red intake. I don't know if it has been painted red or is a STi intake or the whole STi package bolted to the intake. Hopefully I can work on it tonight and figure some stuff out.

Jared like others have said, one of the best things you can do is come down to firestone. Maybe someone down there will have a cable to grab the map off your ecu and be able to tell you more about your car. Like tstrboy said, pictures help a lot also.

That's a good question. Why would someone remove that? Anybody have an extra?

Hmm, why would the washer tank be missing?

Yeah, the only things that stand out is the intake and grounding mod. That and it could use a cleaning. The stretch cord on the coolant line is a nice accent.

    Stock turbo then?

And agreed, ECU tuning gains a solid chunk of power over stock, a lot more midrange oomph.

    Year of manifold

It does appear to be a STi manifold or at least not the stock one paint red. No tumble valves. Some of the vacuum plumbing isnt correct. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram for the car that matches this manifold? Anyone know which years this manifold is used? The car is running now and runs pretty good. I do have a handful of codes to sort thru. The bungy cord has been removed and the salt has been washed off.

    Thanks!
    Jared
