lol im going to be shenning all over the place if it accumulates on the roads...i have bald summers :ugh: 2 weeks away from getting my winters 2 moar weeks
last year moslty afton, but this year where ever my car and pocket book take me.....Afton, Buck, Welch, Lutsen, Duluth, Hyland. and where evere else i missed.
So were getting a snow storm this week... anyone goin out to rip it up in the snow? any good places u know of?
1) Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. 2) Anywhere with a large, empty, unplowed parking lot.
haha. I knew that. I havent participated in any firestone shenanigans because its an hour drive for me to get to firestone. So we just stick to Roch lots.
No, we do not rip it up in the snow. And this will be the first of many times this year I say this, we do have local police that are on the forums. If you are stupid enough to post where you are going, you deserve the tickets you will get. MNSOC and MNSubaru do not condone ripping it up, shens, or any other parking lot racing. What you do on your own time is your own business. Publicly posting lot locations will get your post(s) deleted without warning. Please keep it to pm's. Young guys, watch the old guys, its not real hard to figure out. Russ
Dont want to curb the wheels even more. Just a few days ago i curbed one wheel pretty badly. I was about to cry.
I'm just stoked that I'll have my brand new set of Altimax Arctics on the steelies by tomorrow afternoon, just in time for the mayhem! I'll be posting my reviews and opinions on these tires in my winter tire opinion thread from last week...
I think I will stay indoors, cosume some brews and make some beer at the same time. Its supposed to be f-ing cold.
Brian, remember that my car is pretty much you car too, you can drive it like a bat outa hell in the snow if you would like.... STOP HATEING!!!!!! lol luv u:laugh:
just took mine out for a spin literally with all seasons, pulled out of my driveway and decided to lay on it to see how slippery the roads are, next thing ya know im sideways in the middle of the road...
+1 I'm not too happy with my all seasons... yay for sideways action, boo because I'm going to fail at the ice race. ~Dan
We've got about an inch so far today, but it is supposed to be 10-13 inches by this time tomorrow. Put the snows on last night. Now if only all 4 cylinders were firing properly...
Pretty much love this car. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how utterly and completely perfect the balance is in this thing. 100% controllable at any level of sideways. I may never own another non-Subie...
I have a snow update for you. Oconomowoc Wisconsin, had to drive out today for a Funeral, near Milwaukee. Snowing like a S.O.B, on the news they had said that they may be shutting down the freeway. Supposed to take off tomorrow for home, but I'm not sure if that will be allowed.
Mankato has like 8 inches already and its not supposed to let up until tomorrow afternoon.. I may have taken part in some parking lot shenanigans with Curly.
I may or may not have been the guilty party in performing some shenanigans in a Culvers parking lot this afternoon. This incident may or may not have taken place somewheres behind the cheddar curtain.
It was our 4 month anniversary today and my girlfriend (who is scared to death of driving sideways) gave me the go-ahead for shenanigans as a present. I'm not saying whether or not they happened... but it was a nice present
For sure!!! She got her first taste of it at Ojibwe and her face was like :crying: But now it's more :run: And hopefully with time it will be :slayer:
just got off work, drove pass firestone just to see if anyone was there. I do have to say, wednesday should be a good day!
So that was my first ever time driving awd in the snow. It was...fun! I was loving my car before. Today made me giggle like a little kid.
Excellent quote. you dont want to use your ebrake like that. youll snap the tail shaft and then the dealer wont warrenty it because the only way possible to do that is to be a douche bag like that. i know, im a subaru tech...:laugh::laugh::biggrin: Russ
I'm trapped in my house. I can't even let the dog out through the back right now. I hope the wind dies off soon so I can shovel it all out of the way. :unamused:
Anybody else having brake freeze issues when you park, or is that just because the OEM steelies don't let enough snow go away when moving sideways?
