Its cool man, we all wish for free tickets We actually have free ones for Saturday. Which is why we chose to go to Afton.
I will be at buck this Friday if anyone is game. I will be there Monday too actually (I got off from my day job for forklift training at my night job at 1, so that'll work perfectly!). How did you get free passes to Afton saturday? I actually think I might be able to get one hooked up, I'll let you guys know if I can in advance or I'll text you Tony to see if you guys are out there and what not (saturday is my only day off so I plan on sleeping in). So excited for tomorrow on!
my wife and I went to that ski/snowboard expo thing a month or 2 back. you get free lift tickets for a paid entry. We just asked the lady handing out the tickets nicely if we could get 2 for the same place.
I'll be at welch sat n sun for usasa comp for alpine. I'll be coaching as well seeing how well I can run gates again. I'll be down for riding sat after that's done around 2ish I think.
Wait, was it the expo that had the snowboarding on the rails indoors? I went to that and pretty sure I got a pass to a few places....now if I could find them haha. I have a pro-tec helmet that I like a lot (when I actually wear it) And as for gloves, I wear mostly Grenade. They can be pretty spendy though. ( i know Im not Derek, but I thought I'd throw in my opinion)

^I used to work at Powder Ridge back in '93/'94 during my freshman year at SCSU. Yeah, I've ridden there. Great place, fun terrain. Good scene too. I also worked at Buck Hill from '88-'93 during high school and I worked at Keystone, CO. in '94/'95.
I actually have some old dakine gloves and a smith helmet. Id sell the gloves for 10 bucks and the helmet for 75. Both have never been used (I was riding for dakine and smith and just took them cuz they were free), lemme know. We could possibly work something out.
I'm down with it. Be there around 10am or so and I'm cuttin' out by about 11:45am - 12pm to make it to work in time. I'm planning on be there every Monday and Friday, if not mid-week here and there too. Alright. I'll be in the park (they have the tow park open and it looks so fun), Im mark. I put a picture up but if you didn't see it I have black dc pants and a orange and green dc jacket. I have an 03 lancer oz with jdm round tail lights n tint n w/e. Im teaching my friend how to snowboard so i'll be there cruising around. Park and runs. I'll get at you tomorrow Jeremy. Im debating on going to Hyland or Buck tomorrow.
yeah tony hit the nail on the .... wood? although i can't say i am even close to the #1 snowboard instructor. my buddy does own the shop in Forest Lake. We used to work @ pinewskis together about 11 years ago. he was my manger. he moved up in the world and opened his own shop. since i teach a lot of people how to snowboard during the year i keep discount cards with me. that way if they need to buy stuff i can send them his way and make it worth it for everyone. they don't pay full price and i help out one of the best local shops around. it is a lot like the MNTK subaru. his shop puts a lot of money into the sports (snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, longboarding, wake skating). if you need any gear i can give you the coupon and you can go check out he store. they not only have new gloves but they have my favorite.... a bin with a ton of last years gloves for super cheap. hit me up if you want a coupon.
yea dude i got it in with those guys, mike and mike (petit and thienes) really know how to run a shop, ive taken trips with there crew a few times, there super laid back and fun to hang with, you guys need to make the trip up to saint cloud to ride riverside park before it gets messed up, have you heard about that yet? here the video:
^^ Yea I seen that park, looks super fun. I didn't know the FL owner used to work at Pinewski, I forget his name but I think hes the Palmer rep too isn't he? I just know them guys through comps n stuff. I could probably get some discounts for you guys too at Zombie Boardshop, I've been riding for them for like 5 years and the owner is a super cool guy and will usually hook it up. It's the shop right next to buck hill. If your gonna buy stuff, Zombie, FL, Pinewski's, Cal Surf, and Youth Shelter Supply. Avoid the house, zumiez, and anything else. Zumiez does nothing for local snowboarding and the house sells seconds (boards that had a manufacture error) which is why they can hook up the deals they do. Don't shop at summit boardshop either. Most local shops will hook you up, specially if you know someone. They do a lot for local hills (I know FL bought a few things for trollhaugen and holds plenty local events), Zombie has bought numerous rails and we took buck hill from nothing and started comps and stuff going on there), youth shelter has done the same for pow ridge. Supporting these shops will keep building the scene with more rails, better jumps and park stuff, and keep the hills fun! Enough with that rant. Sorry Jeremy I didn't make it to Buck today. I work up late, I think Im still going but I wont be there when you are. I'll see you guys out there Monday to anyone who is going.

Almost a month to Craig Kelly's death anniversary. I cant believ he's been dead for 7 years already. Seems like it just happened.

^ I have no idea if anyone I know is doing bald e gal cup this year. Buck hill was the **** today, they got a new circle rail that is super fun and some nice size jumps. Its getting to be like parks out west, Im going to Hyland tomorrow (if my friend gets me a free pass) and for sure buck on monday cuz that **** was amazing!
Haha I've been riding a while too. The year I started buck just had jumps everywhere and a halfpipe (and by everywhere I mean just on the tow rope area by the pipe and the pipe wasn't cut with a dragon I don't think). It was mid 90's when I started, and we used to snowboard in the backyard with a sled upside down to use as a "rail" and jumps up to our knee's :laugh: Sadly that was more fun then some of this **** now, its too intense at time. I miss setting up a picnic table with friends and being gay on that stuff! So whos going this weekend? Next week? When?
