Got most of the motor together last week. I forgot to take a pic with the heads on, but the rockers and covers aren't on yet, as half of the lash adjusters are flat from sitting. I don't know what I'm gonna do with the intake as far as painting it. I wanna do red, since it would match a bunch of other stuff, but red is too common, and people who don't know any better would think its an STi motor. I'll have none of that business.;)

Brought it all home to put together. I just need to pump up my lash adjusters so I can get the rockers back on with the valve covers. I haven't deciaded what I should do with my intake. Red(matches other stuff, but would get asked if it was an STi motor so much it would get annoying), drk green (car color), or leave it old and decrepid looking are the options I see.

Plastigauge is easy to use. All the bearings were good to go. And I dunno if I could get over/under sizes anyways.

Inside the paper strip is a piece of plastic line (think fishing line) but really soft. You put the part (rod or crankshaft) on to the proper torque (with the bearings and sufaces meticulously cleaned), take it back apart and see how much the plastigauge crushed. You check it on the marks to make shure your oil clearences are cosher.

nice! i cant wait to hear how this turns out. that block looks immaculate!

i would recomend black on the intake. they used it on the prodrive P2 and it looks hawt. it also adds to a stealth look. otherwise do somethign unique. gold, bronze, gunmetal, somethign interesting, cherry blosom red, jdm green.
