Front is straight bolt on, rear needs backing plates for about $140/pr.

I talked with my wife for about an hour, deciding on Gold Brembo, Red Brembo, Red Subaru, or Black Subaru. After laying out the advantages and disadvantages of all, she decided that the Black Subaru would not only give us the chance to run smaller wheels in winter/rally-x, but the black would be the most unobtrusive in contrast with the midnight blue pearl paint, bronze wheels with blue lip, and future exterior mods.

Not to mention that the black rear 2-pot is not available in the US.... JDM tytness y0!

Will any of the 4 pot front brakes bolt up to the 02 wrx fronts? Do I need to change rotors? Will they still fit in a 16" rim? Are there any sites with good info on these brakes?

any subaru (some nissan) 4 pot fronts will bolt right up. I think you may need a larger rotor for the new calipers. and these will not fit under the stock wrx 16" wheels (pre '06). they will however fit under the 2.5rs 6 spokes or 5 spoke wheels ('98-'01), these will even fit under some fancy 15" gravel wheels which is why alot of rally people will run these brakes instead of the brembos.

I have been doing some reading on this subject....

Kartboy now makes an adapter bracket to mate the 2-pot rear calipers to the stock WRX R160 Knuckles. This saves a lot of time and effort. They will cost about $100 more, but the extra work needed to use the subaru backing plates is worth every penny.

When it comes to running the stock WRX wheels with these brakes it is possible! You will need a 3mm wheel spacer to move the spokes out that far. The reason they don't fit the stockers is the clearance issues with the caliper being wider on the outboard side of the rotor.

The rear rotors are the same diameter as the H6 upgrade, but the 2-pot uses a vented rotor over the H6's solid.

Front rotors are larger diameter as well, but the caliper will bolt to the stock carrier.

The Subaru 4 pots use plain old WRX rotors in front. Its nice because replacements abound.
