I am wondering what people perfer? I was recommended to get Swift Spec R's for my 2000 2.5rs. I am open to ideas. The Spec R's are about 280 bucks. Any feed back would be great.

    Thanks

Depends on how you'll be driving the car. Is this a DD, autox, or track car? I can't point you to any specifics beyond that (surely other members here can), but I know that's worth considering.

I have Eibach ProKit springs over stock struts on my WRX wagon and I love 'em for daily driving. Perfect drop & no huge change in ride quality.

They'd be a little soft for more demanding driving, though...

Cool. Yeah, I've been happy with my Eibachs. Waiting for the experts to chime in...

For springs, I would do the Prodrive P1 springs on the GC. Should be able to get a set for under $300.

Well, I have talked with some other people and Im thinking on alson doing the shocks....Keep in mind that this car has 170,000+ miles, I am the second owner and I asume that everything is STOCK (due to the fact that all the bolts are rusted). so i think its time to replace more then the springs....the informants also recomend that I check out the suspension bushings. That brings me to yet another question... are they mush money to replace and easy to replace? The Swift spec R's I was told about were ~279+tax. So if this info helps or not great....more or less its a FYI.

    thanks for the help.

Looking for a high-end street performance set up.

Stock struts = stock spring rates.

You will not be able to use stiffer springs without running stiffer dampening. This means you're forced to run some form of aftermarket damper. At the very least you could manage to find a set of 04 STI struts and run springs around the STI rate. Or your better option is to buy an adjustable strut like the D-Specs so you can tune the strut to whatever spring you want. Yes it's extra cost, but you get extra freedom of spring choice.

As it stands now, you're stuck with stock like rates. This means you're looking at the Swift Sports rather then the Swift Spec-R. The Eibach Pro Kit would be similar, and I believe it's a similar configuration.

Moral of the story, you're stuck to the dampers you're running. If you chose to ignore this fact, you will be rewarded with a very crappy ride.

    And...you buy what model?

The only Subaru Blisten ever came on was the Legacy. No Blisten exists currently for the Imprezas, otherwise, everyone would be running them.

Now this isn't to say you couldn't custom fab something.

Bilstein Shocks part#GM5-8603-H1.... Bilstein PSS9/PSS10 says they will work for a 1992-2001 Subaru Impreza.
