I'm not sure if its my pullys or belts but its very annoying. It happens mostly when its cold and on start ups only. It squeaks for about 10 seconds then stops. I put some Belt Conditioners on the pullys and belts. Helps for that time only.

    whats the matter with it?

Happens with mine too. The noise seems to be originating from the alternator pulley, I was worried when it first happened but, like you said, it only happens when the temp is single digits. The problem is the cold....try spraying Wd40 or Tri-flow on the pullys. This seems to make it go away longer.

i personally wouldnt spray **** on your belts, belts could be a little loose, or there could be a bigger problem like mine where your tensioner is bent

I went through that recently with my 02'...ended up replacing the tensioner pulley.
I got a cheap $3 automotive stethescope from harbor freight, made it super easy to track the noise down (that and advice from this forum TY:cool:.)

I"ve tried WD40 and it makes it worse after a while. So I tried "Belt Conditioner" that didn't help. Maybe I'll try WD40 on the pullys only this time.
