steering wheel remove?

    how do i take out the steering wheel? do i just pop the center piece out? i also remove the two pastic cover on the side of the steering column where the screws are. what typpe of screws are those? i havent seen them before???? what tool should i use? lmk thanks

    you will need a puller also, most auto parts stores have them for around $20

    the side bolts are a torx end iirc.

    so do i have to remove the two side bolts too? or just pull it out?

    I dont think you have to, but its been a while since I have done it so I can be wrong.

    so the middle piece should just pop'd out rite? i need all the info so i can do this the rite way. thanks

    ok, I check my car for you.

    the side bolts are t30 and they hold the center piece/air bag in. the screws dont come all the way out, you just loosen them. I think the 1st time I removed my wheels I just loosened the nut then hit it with a hammer :) I would recomend a puller but it might come out without one

    If it has an air bag you need to disconnect the battery and wait about ten minutes. Then you can disconnect the air bag from the steering wheel.

    ^ And do the same for when you put the air bag back in if you for some reason reconnect the battery.

    hey whats the size of the bolt that holds the steering wheel in place?
