OK, I have a couple questions, should be pretty easy for anyone who has already done this.

I "need" to install an aftermarket deck, is there anything special about doing this on my 04 wrx? or is it just a standart install?

Anyone have any leads on where to get the mounting kit and or harness for cheaper than the $35 or so Ulitmate electronics wants?

Any place to pick up cheap wires in case this car ever gets a sub? Most kits I've seen are running in the $50 range which seems too high IMHO. I'd like to be able to run something like 4 gauge wire to the trunk, maybe 8.

I take it's probably easiest to interior stuff out to hide my wiring. if I do an install in my trunk.

Anyone interested in helping in a install sometime this winter, maybe having a little party of sorts, afterwards.

if you are looking for a kit use ubid. You can't get the great stuff their for car audio but you can get usable stuff if you are on a tight budget and it doesn't have to be the best stuff.... no one ever gets them and the SWX wires are useable. They have streetwire stuff too but more expensive... other wise ask BigFn E he might be able to hook you up...

You don't need a mounting kit Subarus are ISO-DIN, just a reverse harness for a Subaru. I bought a reverse harness for mine from Sounddomain.com for like 5.99 or so.

www.darvex.com www.knukonceptz.com or www.partsexpress.com if you know exactly what you want for wiring. Otherwise a kit from somewhere would be a good investment. I'd definately reccommend getting a 4gauge kit incase you ever want to upgrade.

I'd lend a hand, if you have tools, a plan, and preferrably a warm garage.

Awesome links, exactly what I was looking for. :D

Hmm I've gotta need a kit, the 6 disc takes up atleast twice the space as the an aftermarket deck. Must do more research....

Subaru harness I bought at Eclipse Electronics St.Louis Park $19.99. And the sub wires go to M&M custom car audio in shakopee. Please note.. Make sure you have high sensitive alarm upgraded, don't end like me. My precious JDM sony double din deck I miss you 4 EVER!!!

mnrstrider, I sent you an email with prices for the harness and amp kits. The generic pockets we sell to fill the extra din opening are pretty crappy. I simply ordered mine from the dealer.

ALright, alright I'm catching on now, so I'll go to the dealer and order a stock stereo mounting for my deck.

BigFnE, I replied back to your email :D
