I just found a set of STi Brembo's, including rotors, calipers, pads, etc. So before I pounce on these beautiful things I had a couple questions. 1: What is needed for the swap onto an otherwise stock 02 WRX? Is it a bolt on affair, or is there something more to it? 2: What is needed to swap the 5x114.3 rotors to the 5x100? Please save the verbal abuse, but I would like to retain what I can that is already on the car, and run with 5x100. So yeah...
IIRC you can't run the rear brembo rotors and calipers without the sti rear end and drive shafts. You'll need 17 inch wheels to clear the calipers, too. The front is a bolt on affair, the rear I'm not so sure it that easy.
I figured getting the rotors to 5x100 would just be buying the correct ones. I have the tally on a couple sets of 17's, so that is not the issue at all. I want to make as little modification to the car as possible to run the bigger brakes. I have an email to godspeedracing in the UK to find out if their kit to run the STi on "classic" subaru will work for the GGA.
You can have just about any machiniest redrill the rotors to 5x100. You will need to get a bracket to mount the rear caliper. You will need to take your ebrake shoes to be relined since the sti ebrake setup is 20mm larger.
Where could I get 20mm added to my ebrake shoes? Do the WRX R160 rear knuckles have the proper spacing for the brembo's? I was reading somewhere that just the USDM models had the wrong bolt space.
There is a place that does it locally, I don't have the info with me now. Its not the knuckle its the backing plate bolt spacing for the caliper, that is why you need the adapter bracket.
