Im looking to wire a few things in on my 02 wrx. Currently it has a 05 sti driveline swap and im wiring in a manual dccd pro diff controller. My questions are this.

    1. Will the dccd pro be able to be wired into a usdm or jdm sti gauge cluster and the dccd lock position indication work correctly.

    2. Can the rear diff temp sensor indicator be wired in to come on if the fluid becomes to warm

    3. Can the external temp indicator be coupled with a temp sensor and work correctly.

Also answer with as little flame as possible would be appreciated.

    1) They can if you paid to have the adapter pigtail added to the DCCDPro controller. It's a ~$50 option. Edit: I'm not sure if the manual controller will do it, you might need to get the universal controller (which is compeltely worth it).
    2) Yes, it can. It's only 2 wires, if I recall (Assuming you have the sensor as well).
    3) Yes, it can. Again, all you need is the sensor itself and some wires. There are write-ups on NASIOC that explain these mods in detail, and I highly suggest doing that research up front. The reason for this is that the STI cluster pin-outs seem to change from year-to-year, so you want to make sure you wire it up correctly.

yea ive found a bunch of info on doing it. dccd pro has all the pin outs for doing the pigtail urself if u want to. I made the post looking for more of yes and no answers but ended up figuring it out for myself through hours and hours of reading haha.

Yes, there is a biblical-sized flood of information and mis-information on NASIOC about the cluster swaps, but once you wade through the bull**** you can find very specific and very detailed breakdowns on how to make it happen. I just swapped an 04 STI cluster into my 02 WRX not too long ago and have been researching the rear-diff sensor wire-up and outside temp wiring how-to's. I'm just waiting until it gets a bit warmer out.

yea. on dccdpro website the most specific information on pinouts are for 04 and 06 sti clusters. my plan is 2 try and get one of them two.

It shouldn't be a deal-breaker, but I recommend the 04. From everything I found it's the most "plug-and-play". You'll need to re-arrange some wires on the plugs regardless of the year, but the 04 has fewer of those than other years.

Can't help you with the DCCD lights but I just dealt with the other two in my swap.

For the diff temp light I do not believe the WRX tank harness has wiring to support the probe. You would need to run a wire (IIRC its just one wire) from the cluster to the probe. I can pull up the diagram when I get home if you would like. Personally I opted to not bother with it as I don't see myself in any situation where my rear diff is overheating.

The ext temp probe is fairly easy to make work. Assuming you are using the WRX dash harness to the cluster you will need to change out a few pins to the cluster connectors. Also you will need a 5v reference voltage to provide the cluster/sensor since you don't have the auto hvac module. Here is my post asking about it before i found the answer.

Mine reads within 4* with no issues.
