Subaru Hints at Performance Future with New Pair of STI Concepts Subaru unveiled a couple new STi Concept at TAS and the Performance B seems to be a near production model. I anticipate some of the accents to be toned down, but could we see the return of the STi in a non-electric form to the States??
Interesting, actual physical display at a Subaru booth at a major auto show. I've not seen any indication at a franchise level, but we usually don't get much earlier than the official announcement. I do think it looks good. But, I'm hesitant to get too excited about it coming to production. It looks like a lowered Crosstrek with a body kit. It's not easy to tell, but it doesn't even look like they started with WRX fenders. I looked for other pictures, and found this: https://www.thedrive.com/news/subaru-mashed-like-three-cars-together-to-make-this-wrx-sti-hatch Pretty much echos my thoughts...
I'm definitely not getting overly hopeful on it actually coming to production, plenty of companies roll them out and don't provide anything. That being said, since they do all share a similar platform, especially on the outside, I think it's a more realistic concept than most others. I'm more hoping that it's just an indication that they will begin to produce a small batch of "less sensible" vehicle rather than mass producing a large quantity of blah cars to distribute to the masses.
