I just put prodrive red springs from an '06 STI on my '04 STi and the ride height is actually a bit higher than it was before. What am I missing here...so confused. Any thoughts??? Thanks, Matt
As far as I know they were stock...setting the 2 springs side by side, they looked about the same height...
looking at your pics I doubt you were on stock springs before. the after pics are still lower than stock. it looks like whatever springs you had before just had more of a drop
Not sure what the difference is but 04 Prodrive STI springs look to have a different part number then the 05+. Edit: Looks like the 04's had more drop.
I think the picture is deceiving the new one is angled up and the old angled down, also start that grill I'll be over for some cooking and I'll look at it!
can i come? and actually looking at old pics of my car on stock springs the second pic is pretty close to that height I'm back on stock springs right now w/ dspecs but it looks a lot higher than that
The pics may be deceiving, but the finger test doesn't lie. We are eating the steaks right now, but they were pan-seared
yeah, there were '04 specific springs that had more drop. The '05s don't really drop much at all. For reference, this was my car on Prodrives w/camber plates, so the front is 1/4" higher than it would be on springs alone. Overall it came out almost exactly the same as stock height all around. Oh, and 245/45 Azenis, taller tire, so that reduces the gap a bit. (contrast enhanced to see the gap) Not sure what happens if you put the '05 springs on an '04, afaik the struts aren't really any different other than the knuckle... hard to tell for sure from your pic, but yeah, it does look a bit lifted.
It seems to have settled a bit more, but it is still higher than it was. It rides and handles great though, so I will see how much more it settles before my alignment on wednesday. I might have to go for lowering camber plates up front at some point.
