While starting up my car in the cold (usually after work parking all day out in the cold) I would hear this strange noise when I try to start the engine, sounded like something is grinding. It sounded like when you start your engine and you try re-starting it again while it is running. Do you know what I mean? This is only happens when it is cold (extremely) outside, but it never happen in my garage, or when the weather is warm. Also, soon as I hear this sound I would turn the key to the off position and second time sounded just fine. So is always the first attempt that I would get this sound. Battery? Starter? Alternator? Any idea?
sounds like the relay isnt disengaging the starter right away, when its REALLY cold mine does it too, i wouldnt worry about it TOO much
