2004 WRX wagon, 128k miles, Stage 2 STI struts, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, Kartboy aluminum endlinks (front), Agency Power aluminum endlinks (rear), strut bars front & rear, all other suspension parts are stock After I come to a stop, the car feels like it "settles," like the weight of the car is falling into a notch or something. Sometimes it doesn't happen right away, but inevitably after a second or two it does. It feels like it's the rear that's settling down, but I can't be 100% sure. Sometimes I think I feel it when the car is moving, but I also can't be sure about that. I jacked the rear up last week to see if I could find anything obvious, but all the bolts were tight and everything seemed pretty firmly attached. I also checked the main strut nuts on top, which were fine. I haven't checked under the front of the car yet. Ideas? Anyone have any experience with this type of problem?
I actually started feeling the 'delay' in suspension settling well before hearing any clunk. I think I may have even had a set that didn't ever even clunk, just stuck and caused the delay sensation. (Went through 3 sets of struts before moving to D-Specs)
Hmm... yeah that sounds about right. I was going to buy D-specs, and then I found a great deal on these STIs. Should have stuck to the original plan.
yes that's the clunk we discussed and why I offered to repack them. call me and we'll have you stop by sometime....
Could it be the hats? I had the clunk in the front and put new hats on and the noise went away... Now I also have the settling in the rear. I was thinking that if the fronts worked, maybe the same will happen with the rears...?
Repacking those inverted bodies will do wonders. I would suggest getting with Dave and lubing those tubes... :eek3:
