does any one know if the injector wire clips are the same on a dsm as they are on a sti? looking for rc1600cc injectors and all i find is dsm ones. any help would be great.
I don't know about DSM injectors, but the nismo injectors I'm using have different clips. I know STi side feed injectors bolt into the older rails. As far as clips go, its not a big deal to scrounge some clips from the yard and splice them in, granted you do it properly(ie, crimp type heat shrink connectors) Have you talked to RC? I'd be willing to bet they could accomodate you with the size you need.
Why don't you go find a junked DSM or a parts car and snip the injector connectors off the wiring harness and solder them into yours?
i have and they say what they are but know one says were they got them from. i know bosch and rc make them. but when you look them up there is nothing for subies
Why don't you run 1000cc injectors at a higher pressure? And what happened to your 'dual injectors' plan?
I think Matt wants to eventually upgrade the 40R. Fobia, if I were you, I'd go over to Nasioc and search for threads related to fuel cc's per horsepower. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I know there is a way to figure out how much fuel you'd need based on horsepower goals and I think displacement plays a key. Don't quote me on that, but there is a way to figure out how much fuel you'd need for specific amounts of HP. It's the same way one of the guys on Nasioc slapped Crawford in the face with facts that he couldn't hit 650whp on 720cc injectors. He had some crazy spread sheet. Also, I'd check built motor discussion and ask what size fuel injectors they think you'd need to run on your setup. If you want, you can PM me your write up and I can fix your horrid spelling before you actually post it over there.
Here's a calculater to help determine injector sizing. http://www.deatschwerks.com/catalog/fuel_calculators.php
ok hear is the deal. yes i do need them. a 42r might be a next year plan plus i want them to be able to handle anything i throw at them such as meth or e85 maybe and a crap ton of boost. but mostly for the purpose of the 42r and want to have room to grow. i ditched the dual injectors because if im using big nasty cams i have to have a high idle any way and you also do with big injectors. plus the hydra can run big injectors vary well. This is due to the Hydras ability to run extremely low injector pulse widths. so why not?
