Transmission stuck like hell to engine... Like it says, all bolts and all associated parts are disconected, it just dosn't wanna come loose. got any hints?
I saw Fuji do this and when i had to crakc my tranny it worked great. get an knife. prefereably one that you dont need any more and line the edge up along the engine tranny seam. the pound it in with the hammer. in theory the knife wont be hurt becuase the bell housing is aluminum and the knife is steel. I just used my pocke knife and worked around the whole housing and it popped right off. not the best looking way but it sure works.
if you need a hand i am in coon rapids, and just pulled one. if you need a hand let me know. Pmed you with my #
Just to make sure, is the car turbo or non? If turbo, did you remove the pin for the clutch release lever? Otherwise, a big deadblow and/or a large screwdriver or prybar helps.
It all went back together last night at like midnight. I feel like I got my ass kicked this morning. That effin' transmission was a big pain in the ass to seperate/mate to the engine. It does feel good to be done though, and I now how to do that job:biggrin:
isn't it a PITA to get that tranny seperated?? I had a hell of a time as well. Then trying to line it back up with the guide pins! After that its a piece of cake
Probably about 12 hours, with lots of breaks/horsing around. but I bet there was like 3 to 4 hours of that seperating and remating the trans.
