Sun Country just filed bankruptcy due to tom petters. Judge freezes all of his assets. Wouldn't you think after the whole Enron ordeal some people would pay attention in this country? What do you guys think about Sun Country going away?
Sun Country Files For Bankruptcy Protection Sun County Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday amid a federal fraud investigation targeting its parent company's former Chairman and CEO, Tom Petters. Petters Worldwide, has been under FBI scrutiny since the headquarters was raided at the end of September. Petters was arrested last week and charged with fraud in federal court. "We were forced to take this action as a result of recent events at Petters Group Worldwide," said Sun Country Chairman and CEO Stan Gadek. "We do not anticipate any disruptions and expect to operate business as usual." Sun Country it would continue to fly its regular schedule. Last week, Sun Country sent notice to all of its employees that it may shut down as early as Dec. 1. The company said it sent notice to employees because federal law requires 60 days notice in the event of a shutdown or major layoff. Earlier in the week, the company announced a pay deferral of 50 percent for all employees through the end of the year.
This would be Chapter 22 for Sun Country. They will be bought, people will lose jobs, passengers will still get the pleasure of flying in planes that smell like feet, Cheetos and unwashed drunkards.

They stated they will resume business... I mean a business bankruptcy or I should say a chapter 11 is like saying we can't pay you guys, but we continue business until everything is gone. The judge did freeze all of tom petters asset's too... to prevent another Enron ordeal.. Sit and wait!
This is a surprise? Tom Petters has been under investigation for a long time. They raided his house last month. The writing's been on the wall.
If you have tickets or credits with Sun Country call their service line. We have some flight credit with them and my wife called. They are stopping service in January through April and they are also stopping some flight routes in the next couple of weeks.
I don't understand all the worry about prospective butt-hurted-ness. Petters is a crook. This issue is factual. Any wankers/bottoms begging partisanship on this issue should DIAF. A former co-worker is drinking bros with Petters' CFO's son. They're all guilty longer than the day is long.
