I'll take a picture of mine when I get home - it has a shoulder strap and shoots about a 1/2 liter of water per shot - it's like getting hit with a pressure washer! It's got to be over 10 years old and still works.

Although you could have all the SuperSoaker technology you wanted, but still get beaten by the guy with the hose every damn time!

I always hated when one got dropped, and pine needles or something would get stuck in the end of them, and they would never work as well afterwards. I had one with the full on water tanks on your back that weighed as much as a small child.

The 100 was what kids whose parents had money would get for christmas. I remember when that came out, and we were all going "OMG I WANT IT" but mommy said "NO it's too much money"

and then my brother got one

and I was soooooo jealous haha

 ah thanks for the memories! Did anyone else on the 50's (maybe others) build up as much pressure as possible and twist the tank off as fast as you could. It went from squirt gun to rocket launcher.

Huh, time to trade in my massive Star Wars figure collection and invest in Super Soakers. That's insane.

Oh, and if you need an excuse to play with toys as an adult, have kids ;) I have more Transformers now than I did in the '80s. Sorry, erm, Quinn has more Transformers than I did when I was a kid.

My little brother and I got two of the first SuperSoaker 50s when they came out, my dad was living on the West Coast and apparently they got released there a little bit early. Talk about ownage in the neighborhood watergun fights. We might as well have been carrying machine guns in the Revolutionary War.

Of course, now I get to play with stuff that makes these look like a drop of rain...

Probie live burn, me on the nozzle:

The best thing about the 50's was you could thread a hose directly into the tank holder. You never had to pump and it was much higher pressure. You were only limited by the length of your hose

I can't tell you how many of those I've broken using them in my parents pool when I was growing up. I think it was from them getting tossed onto the concrete..... :( The 100's were the bomb.
