    another consideration is the 350Z...$27k to start brand new. u can find some 04 used for like 23k..another year or 2 it will be under 20k...Sweet rear action...We took one in for a trade and I was impressed with how the car felt (stock).

    Only problem is that 350Z's are expensive to mod. And there aren't alot of kids and bits for a 350z yet. APS makes some stuff, but that is tons of money. You could go the custom route too. From what I've heard the 3.5L V6 they are using in the Z is actually more capable than the RB26 was.

    If you going with a Supra, I doubt it will be cheaper than the 350z as far as modding it...Twin turbo setup is around $6000-$8000 depending on which one u get...

    Z06 is weak sauce. i met a few Cobra and Z06 guys last night and one guy's cobra with intake, pulley, exhaust, and ported SC walked away from his buddy's C5 Z06 w/ cam, headers, exhaust, etc. Far more money into that Z06... Handling on the other hand, Z06 pwns.

    and no it isn't bs, the guys are best friends and it was from both of their mouths, the Z06 got walked.....

    I like the idea of a 350z. It is a car that I will own once I get out of school

    Cobra, best bang for the buck, parts are easier to find, IMHO, there is no question which I'd buy, even though I find supras dead sexy.

    LS7 V8 Engine

    Inside every Z06 is an LS7 aluminum-block V8. It puts out an SAE-certified (Society of Automotive Engineers) 505 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Hand-built at the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich., the LS7 engine contains a litany of racing-derived components, such as an eight-quart dry-sump lubrication system, titanium valves and connecting rods, forged-steel crankshaft with six-bolt main bearings, high-profile cam, and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machined heads for better air/fuel flow. Even with its performance, the engine does not incur a federal government gas-guzzler penalty.

    I can't find out anything about how much a stock cobra's hp and torque.

    The '06 ZO6's are called C6's. C5's are the previous body style. That 505hp engine a few posts up, the LS7, is what is in the C6, I believe. The C6 is CONSIDERABLY faster than the C5 .. think Viper territory.

    But Bryan was talking about a C5. I'm not sure what the C5 ZO6's run but I know the joe-shmoe C5's run low 13's .. which isn't bad at all.

    they are actually underrated, its been proven many times that the 2003/2004 cobras have about 425 Crank HP. They dyno between 360-390 WHP stock, higher than the C5 corvettes did at the wheels by about 15 HP.

    those are monsters, yes. Run about 11.7 with a good driver stock, can hit mid 11's with stickies. Again, in the Cobra people have hit 11.5's simply with a smaller pulley and the same stickies the vette has.

    Put a cobra motor into a ford focus. It's everything you want and then some.

    Plus, the new C6 would hand a Cobra its ass on the track.

    When I just about totaled my S-10, I was looking into getting a Supra. Do your research, kit's aren't hard to find.

    As for the kits for a 3.5L G35 or 350Z, Greddy makes a nice twin turbo kit for them, using twin TD-05 (18G) turbo's. $12-13K...Kinda spendy for all the stuff.

    www.g35turbo.com HP=534
    TQ=510
    PSI=19.1

    That of course is with major engine work, head work, and such...
