my 02 wrx is running with an 04 STi take-off suspension ....and im waiting for my AGX, and i want to lower my car as well im looking into Eibach prokit(i dont know which year should i go for), or prodrive 04 STi lowering spring....but heres a problem, i was talking to dave (scube steve) he said the front would fit, but not sure about the rear one, cuz the tophat is differnt. i wanna clarify about the AGX wont fit at all or just the springs wont fit??or i need to buy the 02 wrx rear tophat or even the front one to fit them?? any ideas guys??? thanks!!
Please read my other post in the other suspension thread. I answered this there, you didn't need another thread. Here are the Cliff notes: 02-03 Tophats are not the same as 04+ tophats 02-03 springs are different than 04+ springs Your AGXs are 02-03 struts, so if you want to run your STI/Prodrive STI springs you'll need your 04+ tophats AND either do the washer mod or get the premade spacer from www.turninconcepts.com There is no 04+ AGX strut. If you do the Eibach prokits (I would recommend a better spring, but that's just me) you will need to know if they are 02-03 springs or 04+. If they are 02-03, you will need 02-03 tophats to run them, but you will not need the spacer/washer mod for your AGXs. To clarify: You will need 04+ tophats to run 04+ springs. You will have to do either the washer mod or the spacer to run your AGX struts with 04+ springs.
its 04 STi take off, so i assume i have the 04 STi/04+ tophats, and dave said i have the spacer.i think im getting prodrive springs.... ps: sorry about i dont know anything about suspensions!!!
Isn't it only the rear tophats that differ between years? I thought the 02+ front top hats were good for 04/05, 06+ not sure.
^thats what i heard too, but im not sure...i assumed the front and rear hats are all 04+ , so my 02/03 AGX would fit into 04 tophats,is the correct?? tophats are depends which year of spring im going for,correct?? and if i go for 04+ springs, i need the spacer but i can still use my 04 hats, or if i go for 02-03 springs,,,,i need to have 02 front and rear tophats?
Correct. 02-03 springs need 02-03 hats. 04+ springs need 04+ hats. 02-03 struts with 04+ springs need the spacer.
Your AGX will need the spacer in the rear to run 04 tophats. If you run 04 tophats, you will need 04 springs. They do not interchange. Try searching in the Suspension forum on Nasioc. This has been covered many, many times.
