I have an 02 wrx sedan and the guy that I bought it from had just put a rally type suspension in it, its very stiff and I like that but it sits to low and it is not adjustable. I was told that if I put the stock springs back in it would raise it back up and make it softer. Is this correct? If this is the case I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a trade. I cant do it myself because I am terrible with this stuff but I was told it isnt to bad if you know what your doing so I am looking for someone that could swap both cars springs and we can sort out a deal, or throw a little extra money on top of yours for me to have mine switched out.I will need to find out what kind it is but I was told from the guy it is very expensive high qaulity brand.

Define "rally type" suspension. I'd think it'd raise the car if it were a rally setup, not lower it. Is it a strut/spring combination?
It could be a more aggressive tarmac/hard gravel setup which runs lower ride heights in combination with much stiffer spring rates.
This is stiff, I dont know if it is all in the springs or not I am not that smart with this stuff but if you just press down on the car it doesnt even wanna budge, to be honest in my opinion its kinda annoyingly rough at low speeds but it is amazing when you are going fast down a rough gravel road or cornering.
I was told from the guy it is very expensive high qaulity brand. To me, that sounds like scam. If he knows it is very expensive, he would know what it is. Hard to put a price on something without knowing what it is. I would have someone else take a look at it. You very well could have some adjustable coilovers that are just set real stiff, you could also have cut factory springs and the "stiffness" is you constantly hitting the bump stops. Russ
I had a couple of friends take a quick look and they didnt think its adjustable either also the springs are green so I know theyre not stock.
There is no such thing as a very expensive high quality brand of rally suspension that is not adjustable. Find out exactly what you have. You may not be able to put stock WRX springs in it. ~Dan

Bummer man, you've got about the worst springs out there. You'll probably need to price out struts while you're at it, as the Teins have probably prison humped them into nothingness. When you find the previous owner you may want to put them into a large cloth bag and beat him with it while saying "This is NOT rally type suspension!". That being said, even stock springs will net you a performance increase from what's on there now. Prodrive makes a good spring if you're not looking to go too agressive on the drop or the spring rate, and they will improve handling. Get those and a set of Tokico D-Specs or KYB AGXs and you'll have a fun setup that is minimal in maintenance and worries. I run the D-Specs and love them, and so do a number of guys on here.
as stated, teins are possibly the worst suspension made for subarus, find some take offs (there were STI take offs on MNSC for 150) and replace your set up.

type gravel is adjustable, and the springs are probably just as worthless as their s-tech counterparts, but I don't know too much on the rates, ect...

Green springs on stock struts screams S-Tech. The stock struts might be fine though, and you can grab some stock WRX springs from someone for about $50. Simply check for leaking. If no struts are leaking, then don't worry. Toss on the stock springs and leave at that. Any future steps will involve something like Tokico D-Specs and some aftermarket spring set.
