Since I bought Taras's Tein basic coilovers, it seems like it would be a good idea to upgrade from stock sway bars and mounts as well. After looking at some forums, it seems like solid sway bars are the way to go as compared to my original idea Cobb's. Any idea what level of stiffness would work with the Tein basic coilover set up? Would something like a 22mm be ideal? What brands are good?

I found the suspension FAQ on NASIOC helpful. If your car is bone stock today adding coilovers should make a noticeable difference even with stock links/sways. It might behoove you to give the coilovers some miles before upping the sways meaningfully at the same time as the coilovers may be all you need to get the ride you like.

    Have fun!

What he said. Those coil overs are going to be plenty stiff the way it is. Adding uber fat sways before you get a feel for the ride without them would be a mistake.

hm... good point. I guess I was worried that it might break the end links, I can't afford to have the car sit around while I wait for parts. But you don't think it will wreck anything?

Probably not. Sway bars might be optional for you, but the endlinks aren't (for spirited drivers, anyway). I mean, what was Subaru thinking using plastic for suspension components anyway?

With stiffer springs you are less likely to break endlinks than you were with the stock suspension as there is less body roll and less suspension movement.

Personally, I still don't trust them.

Ok, with that said, is there a suspension set up that would work better than others? Are certain end links better than others? Does brand make a big difference in sway bar options?

I have Whiteline sway bars for spring. I need to take a look at my warranty on those. Where are you hearing they break?

What is it that you're claiming will break ? If you're talking about endlinks, the old weak Whiteline coat hanger endlinks haven't been available for a while now, and the alloy ones are pretty beefy. I have heard of the poly bushing popping out, but that's a risk on all of the ones that have poly bushings.

I researched that a little bit and it seems that the endlinks were failing, not the bars. *Wipes sweat from brow* I have Kartboys for that

Kartboy bushings have been known to pop out too. But Tom's much quicker at getting replacements out to customers than Whiteline are. Don't fret too much, it's not like this is a daily occurrence worldwide.

This is the same set up I have. Quality parts and absolutely no problems since install.
