gonna put a turbo back exhaust on my 03 WRX this summer how much does it cost to get the car tuned for that. Thanks
Open ECU tune will be $60-$150??? You can get it done from a few of the guys on the forums who do open ECU. see threads like this... http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?35205-BullwinkleTuning-OpenECU-Road-Tuning&highlight=tune
You'll definitely want to grab a GM boost control solenoid, or the grimmspeed version. Also an STi up pipe will be oem fitment without the catalytic converter. In fact, someone is selling a BCS here> http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?37814-GI...Stage-2-parts So another $40-80 for the bcs, and i'm sure that you can find a stock STi up pipe for around $50 or less. Then contact Bullwinkle or one of the other local tuners to set up a time for tuning. I would do the install of all of the parts a day or three before the tune.
+1 for Bullwinkle tune. Just got my stage 2 tune done by him this last week and his rate for stage 2 is $80 last time a checked
Tuned for a TBE? I'm not sure if there will be any appreciable difference without the associated parts (up pipe, down pipe) and a turbo that actually requires the flow amount.
Lol, guess you're right, i.e. the name. I had cat back stuck in my head. Even so I question any need for a retune without modifying the turbo. Toss on an 18G and you've got a reason to tune, otherwise you're mostly just modifying sound.
Sorry if i sound dumb i'm new to the whole turbo thing is the up pipe before the turbo or am i mistaken
It will run with a TBE, but not like it should! +1 on a BCS and uppipe(our cars came with a catted up pipe, if that goes so does the turbo just good insurance).

Yep, it feeds into the turbo. That's the one. Several people will say to be careful with cheaper uppipes with flexjoints. I dunno. Rigid pipes can be a bit harder for fitment. Remember the uppipe is more difficult than just the TBE, but it is extra insurance and will allow a bit quicker spool. If your car is completely stock, I'd get a custom tune irregardless of upgrades. There's just always compromises from the factory. An exhaust and EBCS will just allow that much more fine tuning.
