I should have thought of this last week, but oh well. Friday night I will be in the man cave again tearing the sedan down. The overall theme is, if it is on the car, take it off the car. Presently, everything forward of the strut towers is gone.

Anyone interested in coming out for some beers, brats, and wrenching is welcome. The garage is heated, so its not totally miserable. I also have air tools.

I'm in Shakopee. PM for address. I'd like an idea of how much bratwurst pick up. w00t

Yeah, its that time of year. Holiday parties and what not make things tough.

The heater's exhaust is plumbed outside, so no death by asphyxiation in my garage, lol.

If you've got nothing going on, you're more than welcome Nick.

PM's sent. Thanks for all the interest.

One thing, if some people could bring a strip of sockets and a wrachet, that would be great. I do have a fair amount of tools, but not enough to keep four or more people occupied.

190 miles from the east hillside. I've made that drive more than a few times, lol. Besides, you have a couple projects going too, don't you?

I think Max needs a man's heater for the garage. Then he might be more inclined to spend time in it. :hsugh:

Hells yeah. At the very least you guys should hang some poly from the roof trusses. IIRC that garage has absolutely no insulation in it.

Hmm, this week I'd like/need to:

    -finish insulating/sheeting the walls
-Vent the eves, Poly/sheet the ceiling in prep for blow in
    -Hook up the Wood stove
-Strip Tim's car of everything I want for the other 93'

If I got all that done by this time next week I'd be very happy. I was working on the garage tonight (even tho it's -15 out there) but I'm outta staples now...

Yeah, I'll end up doing some serious changes to my wiring as well. Not a lot of splicing, but moving stuff around and what not. The old Legacy was not laid outthe best compared to newer cars.

I will have you all know that it is cherry plywood for the gauge cluster (provided by my co-driver).

It's pretty amazing how much of an improvement you can make by just moving some wires around.

The most annoying thing about my wiring system is that the ECU is under the dash on left side. There is hardly any wire to work with and mounting it is a PITA. I think I might de-solder one of the headers from an ECU I have laying around to make a "plug and play" harness so I can put the ECU somewhere a little more accessible. The only thing is I feel I need to support the wires that are soldered to hte back of the header, since it is a solid metal pin that goes into it, and could possibly fatigue over time.

Something like this, but with an inch of epoxy on the back side, or something.

    Bump.

The boss/pres decided to shut the plant down since we are slow, so I'm up here already. I need to run a ton of errands including getting something to add to the toy drive, visit the boys at morries, among other crap.

Anyways, I'll be rocking it from probably 3:00 on. Anyone that wants to stop by at any point is welcome to hang out, supervise, talk smack, get dirty, eat bratwurst, make snow angels, whatever. I'm going to flip the heater on at about 1 so the floor and tools can maybe warm up a little bit by the time anyone gets here.
