I lived my first 23 years in Green Bay, so I am pretty darn excited about this Sunday's Super Bowl. 6th seed with 16 players on IR, and in the Super Bowl, FTW! Discuss...
Packers will win by more than 7 pts. Clay Matthews avenges his DPOY snub and strip sacks Big Ben along with 2 other sacks to win Superbowl MVP - if Rodgers doesn't win it. Really, it's been an unbelievable year. I thought after the Detroit loss that they didn't have any hope. I think the season changed when the Giants punted to DeSean Jackson. Without that game turnaround, the Packers and us fans would be looking at the playoffs from the outside. Once they got in, they were arguably the best team even as a 6th seed.
I think the Packers will pull it out, and I am a Vikings fan. Steelers are good, but the Packers have been on a role despite the setbacks.
I knew that there was something that i liked about you Matt! I've been a Packer fan all of my life, and this is the most exciting post season/Super Bowl that we've ever been in! IMO.
actually this reminds me of the 96 season super bowl. though, then the expectation was to make it after many years of disappointment handed down by the cowboys. still very exciting then and more improbable this year. can't wait til next year - all that talent coming back wooo!
I'm a die hard Vikings fan, cursed from the day I was born, I hate both teams, but I have to go with the Pack.

Both defenses are excellent but I think Rodgers' mobility is going to hurt the otherwise stalwart Pitt D. Ben is a big guy and a great pocket QB but the Packers secondary is going to make it difficult for him to make any big plays. But if the Steelers can get a good running game going then they're going to be tough to beat. Ultimately I think it's going to come down to turnovers. The last time the two met it came down to the final second on a TD for the Steelers to win by a point. I'm hoping it's at least as exciting as that game was. I looked into tickets for the game (since I live down here and am still 15-20 years away from my season tickets at Lambeau) but the only seats I wanted you had to buy in blocks of two and I couldn't find anyone else who wanted to drop $4500 to see the game. I am still waiting to hear back from my VP as our company is one of the largest NFL sponsors and we have at least one box for the game, but they usually reserve those for large/favorite clients.
Born in WI and have been a long time packer fan myself and see the Packers running away with this one. Rodger's simply plays lights out indoors. In 12 career dome games, including the playoffs, Rodgers has a 111.5 passer rating and a 68.6 completion percentage and has averaged 286.2 yards a game. He has also racked up 31 touchdowns (six rushing) to only six interceptions. In contrast, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has played in only nine indoor games and has totaled nine interceptions to go with 14 touchdown passes. His passer rating is respectable at 94.2, but his statistics just doesn't stand out as opposed to his body of work outdoors.
I have Packer plates on the cars. We got Lil Wayne on our side - http://nahright.com/news/2011/02/03/lil-wayne-green-yellow-freestyle/

I am prepping beer cheese soup for the party I'm going to. I am also bringing 8 pounds of brats. I'm hoping to find a lackey (sous chef) to finish the brats during the game so I don't miss a second of it. They'll get prepped by poaching in Miller.
Almost a full calendar year since their last loss. It's all for nothing if they don't bring home the hardware.
^ Better than going 18-1 and losing the one game that really matters! Not a packers fan (chiefs fan actually ), but if I was I'd be happy the loss is out of the way and looking for the next long win streak.
It was really frustrating to watch, but in the long run I think it will take some pressure off, humble them, and give them a chance to regroup. I expect them to come back looking really good. They are very self-disciplined and this should get them focused. I will be at Lambeau on Christmas to see it
