Sunday my car went into some limp mode or something, power was way down, I had a hard time running 70 mph down the freeway, and half boost. Initially I just reset the CEL without know what was wrong, but it came right back, noticed the spool was weird until the cel came in again, back into limp mode....

Got home hooked up the computer, when I got home praying it wasn't something major, as it appears I got the cel 1091 rh side tgv stuck closed, which apparently flips the car into limp mode or something...

OK these damn things need to go, had the passenger side stuck open for at least the last year or so. Since I've never done any wrenching myself on the car, I'm temped to start now, (more or less I just don't have any excess of cash at the moment...) I'm wondering how difficult taking off the intake and TGV's are?

Is it possible to get to the motor and move the TGV to the open postion?

Yeah I may go that route, it all depends on if I can find anyone to help me with the removal and install or not, at this point I don't have a ton of spare time, but it's gotta get done. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I haven't ever worked on car, just not so much in the last couple years, and I'm just being overly cautious. I want it done right the first time. I suppose if time wasn't a big issue I could go ahead and delete them myself too. Someone who's done it before and can lend some know how and help eating some pizza or something and washing it down with some beer of their choice would be nice.

Heck I could probably just replace the motor too, not totally sure how involved that is.

On another note it may have went back to stuck open (or doubtfully working), not 100% sure, drove in to work today, took it real easy, power really seemed to be up today, no problem cruising on the freeway, where as Sun. Basically the car was boosting a little every little hill at 65 pmh.

Any idea if I'll have any tuning issues after the delete?

I believe, as long as the tuner deletes the code, you should be fine

This is pretty much the same assumption I have, maybe it'll effect the boost somehow too, since I can flow a little more air through them (efficiency wise anyways).

Your tuner will be able to shut off the codes for the TGVs
