Finish turned out great, nearly exactly what I was looking for. My friend did a great job laying down the paint. Itching to get them on the car now:eek:hnoes:

Let them dry for DAYS. The paint stays tacky/soft a while longer than I thought it would.

Sitting in a heated garage curing away. They won't be mounted until the low temps are above 40 so probably another couple weeks i'd guess.

Thanks Ted, my friend is an all around amazing artist. He does web/graphic design for a living but just has an all around talent for art in general. He has fantastical paintings, drawings, sculptures littering his house. He has a 3' x 3' dragon he put together out of old typewriter parts, its fricken sweet. Here's some of his digital work- http://www.morphotos.net/ Art-http://www.morphotos.net/drew/

    TIC Fender Braces

TIC Fender braces are in. Damn wagon fenders and tight spaces. Even my child sized hands were no match for the reverse fender flares of the wagon, had to loosen the fender to get the upper bolt out.

Not sure if the oem braces did anything considering their aluminum can like structure.

Now for a spirited test drive :yumyum:

I live the overall look of the car! I'm curious how much the fender brance upgrade helped out!

LOL. Damn Burger King and their giant sandwiches. And tanks.

I'll report back on what noticeable differences if any the braces have.

Banged up the knuckles, got a bit dirty, listened to Eminems "Refill" 4 time through, broke one clip in the wheel well. Fairly uneventful. Still have to get out for the test drive.

    TIC Fender Brace Review

Had a short spin last night and a good drive in this morning to come up with some thoughts on the braces. Driving around town I didn't notice much, maybe a little tighter up front and more sensitive on the steering but nothing that I could really put my finger on. The highway drive is where it was really noticeable. Going through clover leafs now feels more sure and the car seems to stay upright, hard to describe but thats what it felt like. The rear end felt a bit different or maybe now that the front is flexing less the rear flex is noticeable. Well now I guess i'll need to be getting a rear strut bar  I'll update this post as I have some more drive time.

Holding the TIC brace and stock brace at the same time was just a joke. Could easily flex the stock part in my hand, the TIC brace not at all.

Overall it was a great upgrade and i'd do it again. Install was pretty simple and straight forward as well. If anyone has questions or needs a hand with install just let me know.

*edit- took it out again for a Midwest Supplies run and the changes to the front end are becoming more noticeable. Tracks better and doesn't feel as drifty as before, also can feel the road a little more than I could before. Like the upgrade :)

At least she is excited about it, i've heard some not-so-good stories about little kids hating the spotlight being stolen from them. many, many years ago i was one of them, i tried to "throw" away my brother according to my mom. and again congrats.

oh, and i'm still jealous of you and your car..

    Stripping wheels

Well started with the sanding and was just taking far too long and now with snow in the forecast I decided I needed to get this project moving a bit faster so I went out and picked up some Zinsser stripper in a can. Worked great but also is some nasty stuff so a word of warning. Glove and safety glasses type of nasty. Had some splatter land on my forehead and man did that burn lolz.

Some spots still to sand here and there but i'm left with 4 stripped wheels and took all of 2 hours from start to cleanup.
