The 2006 Honda CR-V is going to get a nice V6 transplant from Honda. The V6 is rated at 269 HP and 246 lb-ft. It is a 3.5L motor with dual VVT-i. (not called VTACH; I don't know why) The tranny comes standard as a 5-speed auto. It weighs 3527 lbs for the 2WD and 3655 lbs for the 4WD. The CR-V also comes with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC). The V6 model will run right around $26000, which is right in the pricing range of the Forester XT.

Although it's a direct threat to the XT, I would still rather have a Forester XT for it's symmetrical AWD, modification options, looks, gearing, and EJ257. :D

You read that right, fellas. The CR-V has VVT-i technology. Also, the compression ratio for the CR-V/Avalon's V6 motor is 10.8:1. That means that there's no way a supercharger kit can be made for it without blowing something up.

dont under estimate anything. just look at your fxt. its a new line up with a new setup. who knows what kind of performance part there is for it. it might just out due the fxt.

this is interesting, i work at a honda dealer and i haven't heard anything about this yet, as far as the vvt-i thing i can't see honda doing that, what they have is i-vtec. and why would the give the cr'v more power than their full size stuff, pilot, odyssey, and ridgeline.

hahAHaHaHAHa.....just remember V-tec kills and many has fallen, but yeah being a toyota tech i'd say the vvti system isn't that bad, not as noticable though and they could improve their gear ratios.

that makes more sense. i didnt think honda was gonna confess to stealling VVT. any way i still got money on the FXT. two words: Symmtrical AWD. puts the FXT on the top for wieght balance, and handling IMO.

not to mentino what the aftermarket can do for the two. FXT = uber fast minimal stuff. RAV4 = BOOM. granted 10.8:1 comp can still be played with alitte. maybe 2 or 3 psi lol. but beyond that BOOM. in order to et more power out of it ou prolly need to biuld the engine, while FXT is fine on the stock block fro along while.

    can you guess my bias?

We'll have to wait and see how much improvements can be made out of it... both Dezavu's spelling and the VVT-i.
