HeY I'm A nOoB! Hey my name's Syrie and I drive an 02 Wrx Here's a link to my site, let me know what you think...... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2469015 :rockwoot:
Welcome to the board and nice pics! I bet there are 10 or 20 people on this forum that would be interested in that wingless trunk! Just a FYI!
wooooo whoooooo chicks rule and boys drule! Welcome! If you get down to the Twin Cities be sure to stop by Firestone.
Welcome to the board, and nice looking car. saw the poll and just to let ya know a carbon fiber hood will probably weigh more than the stock one.
I see you use to have a Civic Si! I had one before I got my first suby too, I miss that car! Welcome to the club!
ahhhh, a little something like some leg humping, a little name calling, a little getting out of hand and then it was closed and moved. Russ
Yea, that's what I thought was what happened. Oh well. Nice car and as I said in a post in the previous thread, welcome to the board.
I moved in the posts that were friendly. There were 64 posts in your orginal thread and these were the ones that were not related to above mentioned action.
I am going to keep it wingless but in the next couple months I'll be getting a carbon fiber one so I might possibly sell the original....not to sure yet tho
Alot of people don't like the headlights, I thought they were something different so that's why I got them, they aren't that bad, haven't had any problems but if I do I'm not going to get them again, I'll just go stock with HID's
prolly not the best mod since the stock airbox is good for up to 400 whp and it keeps the intake temps down better than aftermarket ones. I've read a few data logging threads where the aps will mess with your maf readings. Give it a try and see how it goes.
I really miss my SI too....The reason I sold it is because it was salvaged and I got offered $8000, ended up the girl couldn't drive a 5 spd and she had to sell it the next week for like 5k or less......it only had 30,000 miles on it and it was soooo clean : ( If I find out who has it I want to buy it back.
Will it ruin anything if it messes with the readings? What would happen? I don't mean to sound stupid, I know a lot about cars but this is my first Subaru so I just wanna get some answers
I tried to teach her, my bf tried to, her dad tried....wasn't working......She burnt the clutch out and over paid for a new one....sold it a couple days later
I agree that's the first car I learned on well a 89 prelude but its still a honda, I had no problems at all, I think I was lucky tho, never killed it, it never jerked, I drove smooth as could be
I would strongly recommend keeping the stock airbox. Not much can beat it in terms of performance, and your fueling tables with get messed up with anything with a different size MAF housing then the stock box. Here's a good write-up from the cobbtuning website. http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=3223 In addition, all data logs I have taken/seen show intake temps lowering as RPM increase with the stock box, and the opposite with any type of ram-air intake.
As most people have said the stock airbox is good to right around 300whp. Here is a thread in which some of the basics are covered (good read to save some time and $$) http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8892
If the inside diameter is a little different from the stock MAF tube, your long-term fuel trims will be further from zero than they normally are. That's not a huge problem unless it gets way up to like 20% off. I think it throws a check engine light if it gets too far off. The real problem with some after market intakes is causing turbulence around the mass airflow sensor which gives inconsistent readings and really makes your car run crappy.
