recently, there is a ticking noise coming from somewhere(possibly somwhere on the brakes)...lol and stays there in all speeds and seems to tick faster as i go faster, but when i press on the brakes it goes away. just changed both front and rear pads(+ rotors for rears) and the noise is still there. some help diagnose this plz! its getting really annoying now!..
check backing plates, make sure they aren't rubbing on the rotor. it helps if u drive by a buddy so u can pinpont what wheel its coming from. then check for anything in that area that would make any contact and make a noise as the wheel rotates
well i thought it was coming from driver side front so i examined it today as i was changing out the brakes and everything looked fine. will try the buddy thing when i can find someone to...
hmmm... so the noise was there before u did the brakes? u can also try lifting up the car and spinning the tire so u can be under there and try to see whats making the noise... thats all i can really tell ya w/o seeing the car
yeah and it wasnt as loud couple weeks ago, now its pretty annoying when im driving next to a siderail or car even on the highway
no... heads wouldnt tick with the speed of the car, they would tick with the speed of the motor im betting its something in the axle/brake/wheel area
well its mostly gone now... and will tick once when i run into a hole or hit a bump or something....so definitly something with the axle/brake/wheel area like bora said....
