Top hat problems

    So i replaced my whole strut yesterday and i was double checking the top hat nuts with a hand wrench and one of the bolts sheard right off the whole thing! The top hat was brand new... what should i do?

    if the stud is just pressed into the top hat just punch it out and put a new one in or just put a bolt and a nut through there

    What kind of top hat? If subaru wrx/sti you may have luck asking for a replacement. Or as mentioned replace the stud possibly. You should always use a torque wrench with any essential nut/bolt on the car.

    top hats bolts are only 14lbs IIRC

    looks like I have a bent oem top hat in the garage. You can have it for the bolts if you want, they're still in good shape.
