I need some help getting my new tophats on my front suspension. I need to get this done before the trip up to rich's(next weekend). we will need a spring compressor to do this. anyone?
I have a spring compressor and the tools to do the job. My garage probably isn't the greatest for doing suspension, I don't have a lift or anything. The garage is insulated, but not heated, so it usually stays about 40 degrees. But, I don't have any plans for sat, sun, mon, so if you can't find a better place to work on it, I can help. Joel
Not bad, I think it took 2 hours. We had a little trouble getting things lined up when we were reassembling the first strut, even with the spring compressor we had to push down on the spring a bit to get the nut started. Once we figured out what wasn't lining up things went fine. It's definately easier with two people, and jacking up the whole front of the car vs one side at a time makes it a lot easier too since you don't have to deal with the swaybar.
Cool. It's amazing how little wear it takes in the top hat to make it noisy. One of them felt ok, the other you could feel just a bit of play in the bearing.
