Has anyone wired up any trailer lights lately into an 02-2027 WRX? I'm just wondering if they make a quick, plug and play harness kit, or weather I need to figure out how to solder one in.

And, if you can guess what I'm towing, you get a special prize.

    yeah I mean oh-seven.
Nope, not a boat. I think that my boat is too heavy for my stopping system.

most manufacturers have a kit that you can piggy back into the main harness

Subaru doesn't make a plug and play harness for sedans. Has to be a wagon, otherwise your going to have to do a custom jobber like I did. I pinned out my terminals on the taillight harness and soldered wires on, to send signals to the wire harness box (subaru part).

I just picked up a 5 to 4 wire converter from walmart and wired it in. It's just the cheap unpowered one. It works fine with my utility trailer. You might want a powered one if you plan to run a trailer with lots of lights.

Just did this Wednesday. Works just fine on my 06 sedan with a small utility trailer.

Very good idea, as my ATV trailer blows the clearance/tail light fuse in my car after a while of driving. Got some LED's on the way for the trailer which will eliminate lots of load that the trailer creates. Gotta love the no load of LED lights!

    Thanks everyone for the help.
I'll pick up a converter and just wire it in myself. Does the converter come with instructions - or could you guys offer any help for wires to tap into? And great idea with the LED's, I'm definately going to convert the lights that are on the thing that I'm towing.

I'm going to pick up my "thing" and I'll take pictures of it, post em up, and let the guessing continue...

I wish it was an ATV!! Or even a sled!

Man, that wiring was a friggin piece of cake! It took me all of 10 minutes and I was done with the 5 to 4 thingie-thing and a test light.

    Any more guesses?
Don't worry, I won't drive with the jack down it's just taking the weight off of the suspension while I'm at work.

    DING DING DING!!! YEP
    It's sprinkler winterization time!!!
Who needs their lines winterized so they don't freeze? $50.00.

The WRX towes it pretty well, but I definatley know it's back there. I'll use the car to tow the thing on the days where I have to drop little Max off at daycare and have a house scheduled for that evening. I don't really want to haul him around in the War Beast (c).
