transmission oil

    Okay I have a question:

    To replace the transmission oil can I just drain and refill? I have some mobil 1 75w90, are they any good? does the rear diff us the same kinda oil?

    Sorry I meant I have 3 questions.:roll:

    Yup, for the manual tranny there is a big drain plug on the bottom of the gearbox. The spot to fill it is through the tube for the dipstick.

    As far as oils are concerned, I'll leave that one alone as there are far too many differing opinions on them. I prefer using dino over synthetic.

    ya ya should be able to drain and fill. rear diff its nice to have a suction pump, or a long lenght of house. if you have a 4eat there might be a filter or two inthere, which could be replaced. ya pretty straigth forward though.

    I have mobile 1 in the diff and trans right now. However, I'm not too happy with it. Once in awhile, I'll get a grind going into first, which never happened with the stock fluid, which I'm guessing is Valvoline.

    Next fluid to try will be Redline.
