Grayguy's transmission is my old 5mt. Came out of a 2003 WRX with a bit over 80k miles on it. I never launched it or bullied it while I owned it. Only replaced it because I bought a 2004 STi 6mt swap. It was working flawlessly when I replaced it and it hasn't been installed in a car since. Just thought you might like some background info.
INFO : got a 04 wrx transmission with 102k on it works great no leaks no grinds nothing. pulled it out of a buddies car he thought he needed a transmission so he bought another one, with out consulting with me so he just figure it was his transmission but when i took it out and inspected what he thought was a bearing noise it was the flywheel cover ridding on the flywheel. So for labor of pulling out the transmission he just gave me the good transmission but on the safe side i tore it down inspected all the bearings and snycro's and the back lash and measurements. everything check out good
