Well, my tyres are getting to be close to being toast, I want to get winter tyres to replace the all-seasons I currently have on my 08LGT. Any recomendations from some of the more experienced subie folks would be very helpful. I am looking for good performing tyres that don't cost more than 150 per tyre. Oh yeah and best places to go to, tire rack etc... Thanks guys!

Nokians are good, but last time I bought them they were about $165 each in a Subaru size, so they might be a bit much. There's a tyre place in Eden Prairie that sells them, but not very many other places. They also only bring in limited numbers, so it's best to order early for winter tyres, especially if you want a popular size. Leave it too late, and you simply won't be able to get them until next year.

Trust me I know, there was so much rust and crap, the homade sign was the nicest thing on the car. My buddies and I were laughing so hard I thought we were gonna puke!

well, you've got a couple months yet, keep your eyes open. there are deals to be had.

last year I got 2 sets of snow tires from tirerack on closeout. a set of Blizzak Revo1s for my subarus for like $60 each (IIRC the Revo1s were replaced with the WS-60s...), and a set of winterforces for the girlfriend's kia for like $40. of course, those were for 15 and 14" wheels. bit cheaper.

at full price, it's pretty hard to beat the value of winterforces. they're not the best snow tire out there, but they're pretty darn good, and for the price of a basic all-season.

a step above that, I really like the Hankook winter IPike, most commonly available at discounttiredirect.com

They didnt have the Ipike for my car on discounttiredirect.com right now but I do like the fact that I don't have to pay tax or shipping from them. I did find these, they also have a $40 rebate too.
