Me and the ol' lady have a week off of work/school in mid march. We're looking to get away for a bit. We're finding good deals to Jamaica, but we hear crime is horrible. Does anyone have any good ideas/experiences as to where to go? We were hoping for all inclusive, but its not a deal breaker.

    We're open for suggestions!

Costa Rica is my #1 "must go in my lifetime" location. The Star Trib just had a cool article on the WEST coast of Florida islands that looked cool too.

These are my favorites. Cayman islands are nice too. Jamaica sucks. If you never leave your all inclusive resort, Jamaica might not be so bad.

Ive heard that about Jamaica. We're just looking for somewhere nice to go and relax and drink. We arent so into the whole site seeing thing, so if we get a good deal we might try Jamaica out.

Jamaica's alright, if you wanna get in the middle of a knife fight
Jamaica's alright, if you wanna get AIDS or dysentery
Jamaica's alright, if you wanna be mugged or murdered
    Jamaica's alright, if you're a misogynist, or a homophobe

Jamaica's alright, if you like only one kind of music
Jamaica's alright, if you like small bananas and spiders
Jamaica's alright, if you wanna buy drugs from your hotel room
Jamaica's alright, if you want your hand lopped off by a machete

I have several friends that go to the Dominican Republic every year and love it.

My wife and I have been to Hawaii and that is a very safe place. There's a lot of variety to the islands so if Hawaii is what you decide I'd suggest grabbing a guide book and determine what island to stay on. There are island hopper plane tickets if you're going to be there for longer period of time and what to see a couple islands. I'd suggest staying at least 10 days.

ARUBA! it is super safe. I felt safer there then some places I have been to in the US. Almost no crime, and it is super cool. I would say ARUBA FTW!

I've really enjoyed a few of the places on the north side of Conzumel. Relatively cheap, and unlimited beer on tap. Good times.

I liked the Bahamas when I went there. I will be going to Ireland or the grand cayman islands next.

The Riviera Maya was pretty cool. The further south, the better and less touristy. Plus, the Maya ruins, like Tulum, are pretty cool. Went to a wedding there a couple years ago and stayed at an all-inclusive resort (Aventuras Spa Palace Resort) and it included a couple tourist things you could choose from in the price. Best wedding ever! (Sorry, Tony)

Moab, Utah! Bring mountain bikes and/or climbing gear. A camera is good if you want to tour around the Four Corners area and see all the pre-Puebloan (spelling?) ruins. Desert ftw!
