Occasionally, after picking up Ka band radar, my V1 will go silent and flash a "J" on the display. I looked in the manual and there isn't anything in there about it. Does anyone know what this might mean? and is it affecting the radar sensitivity?
yea its another persons detector i had a freind following me with one just a cheap cobra i think it was after every hill when his detector would line up with my rear sensor it would go off
Anybody else getting all kinds of false signals on their V1 from various GM brakelights and Infinity radar cruise systems?
Yeah I get the Infinity laser cruise systems as well. The Trailblazer and Envoy use a neon brake light, so that sets it off when you are at the right following distance. Or whenever I get gas at night at the Shell in Mankato. There is an Arby's next door with a ton of red neon.
A couple of times it's flashed a "J" at me, and then I see the cruiser anyway. Be careful, even with those!
Trailblazers, Envoys, and let's not forget the Bravada. My old roommate at UMD had one, and he got false signals only under very specific instances. V1 pretty much r0x0rz.
Hmmm... I have a 9000i and haven't noticed anything from brake lights at all. As far as the Infinity radar cruise systems I will have to see next time I am near a vehicle with one. Is this a Valentine specfic issue?
^^ thanks. GM didn't make Trailblazers and Envoys when I bought mine. V1's haven't changed much, if any, in years.
i get false alarms from the trailblazers and Envoys quite a bit. Ive also had it happen from new(ish) Muranos a couple times. thanks for the help with the flashing J thing. Its never happened in the same location before, so i was really confused at to what it might be.
Yeah i am not sure if it is new lights Downtown but I am getting a lot more false reads when i am driving around Downtown MPLS, in places where it wasn't happening last month. So it looks like stoplights/LED billboards may be doing it too.
