Well it was more like a pop but damn was it loud!! For awhile i had notice my computer's video acting up a bit. Well the other day I got a nice big bang POP come from it as i dove for cover. removed the video card and heres what i found... hhmmm I dont think capacitors are suppose to look like that. I'm not sure what could have caused this... I know PCIe cards suck a bit of power. So I went out and picked up this from best buy. Wish I had the money to just go Duel cards
LOL OMG look at those caps they went SPLODE!! dont overclock so much! i had a processor explode in my face once when i was trying to figure out where the smoke was coming from a big white flash and shrapnle scorched my face good times
You think blown capacitors are bad, you haven't seen violence till you have to cards dueling. When they duel, it's for blood. Also, what did you pay for that card? They had Nvidia GTX 260 896MB cards at Microcenter for 159.00 when I was there on Sunday (bought two of them)
if you were still registered for warranty on EVGA, they would have it covered since they offer lifetime warranty
Seen this before, also with PSU's LOL Once, the ram on the vid card started glowing hot red...then the screen was blank, and smoke was all over in my room LOL
This happened on my last computer. PSU went kaboom and juiced the entire system. Killed 3 of the 4 HDDs in it, video card, sound card, external HDD case/power supply, and my bluetooth dongle that was in the USB port. Pissed me off to no end.
My Hard drive whent screech last week and locked up. I lost everything. Iam blaming vista. lol. I have nothing else to blame it on. It was a seagate. Ohwell, now i have a bigger one.
