    hi folks,
Currently drive 2002 Focus- power nothing, not even cruise...I know- sick.

Starting to think about my next car.
Found out about a car called the subaru WRX. Can't remember exactly how to be honest. Do not see too many on the roads- just forester, outback.
    Now I am here.

    What I think I want:
WRX 11 or maybe used but I am hesitant to buy a car like this used.
Something I could make even faster than out of the box, but not crazy like.
I have a family but like the sedan better than hatch.
Dark car with the metallic/dark rims makes me smile.

    Info on me:
Not a car/motor head guy- actually know very little.
Family car is a Touareg 08.
    I have owned a Cougar, Focus 01 and a Focus 02- LAME.
Never owned a manual trans, but know how to drive them.

    How I would use it:
    MN guy, so MN weather.
Work is 40 miles round trip.
Baby my cars but like to jet occasionally.
No racing on a track - just laughing at expensive car drivers when I pull away.
hockey bag must fit in trunk.

    What I need to know:
seems to be tough to find new wrx's to even test drive...what should I do?
Love to learn more considering I am the engineer type.

Would even buy somebody a couple beers to learn me something!
    Let me know.

    thanks folks-
    Jackson

Not sure what you want to know, but you're in the right place. If I were you, I'd head over to Morries Minnetonka Subaru, they usually have something in stock to play with.

Also, welcome to the site. Any questions, ask me or any of the other Moderators.

    Questions:
Yes the best place to test drive - thanks.
What is an engine tune mean and what do they do?
    How much does this cost?
    Does this affect warranty?
Is there still a turbo lag ( or low speed bog) with the latest WRX's?
What does a exhaust change do? What does that cost?
I see talk of a short shifter- what is this?

I guess there are a few to start.

    thanks

^^and this for most bolt on mods that are best for starting out with.

Just in case there is no info on these about it, a short throw shifter really just shortens the distance on the gear shift. They make a huge difference in the WRX, I notcied a big difference at least with mine. Any more questions feel free to PM me and I will fill you in on stuff the best I can. Welcome to the site and hope you find the info you are looking for and join the Subie family soon.
