Does anybody out there own or used to own any Wanli brand tires? How are they? I've found pretty good reviews, but I thought I'd ask the MNSUBARU community, since we drive the same kind of cars and in the same conditions. They would probably be my summer tires. I'm thinking about selling my summer rims and tires.
I have heard nothing but bad reviews. Lots of talk about bubbling sidewalls and terrible tread life. This is your car of course, if it were my car, I would be very cautious of the only thing separating me from the road surface. Tires are one of the biggest things effecting the handling and safety of your car, please...go with a brand that has a reputation for making good tires.
Yeah, I LOVE my summer tires right now. I was just thinking of getting different rims and tires and selling my current ones. Looking online at some packages that come with the Wanli tires. I just don't want to lose what I have right now in my tires. Thanks for the advice!
IMO, don't buy a package. If you see some wheels you like, get just the wheels, then buy some good tires from TireRack or Discount Tire or something like that. Discount Tire is great because not only do they sell good tires, but they have a road hazard program, that if something goes wrong with the tire, they replace it free! And I can vouch for this, as I had a Parada spec2 replaced for FREE...a 180 dollar tire and they popped a new one on for the price of mounting and disposal...22 bucks.
Thanks for the advice. I plan on getting a good tire, but never heard of the Wanli and thought I'd ask about them. How's the Michelin Pilots for winter only? I have Nitto's on my car for a summer tire now and they handle like nobody's business. I think I'll just buy new wheels and tires for the winter.
Dude.... Nitto? If the tire isn't in the Street Touring category of this review, it's not a fast tire. http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com/images/samples/august_100_115_tiretest.pdf The only good tires nitto make are drag tires. they fall on their face when you try and turn with them because of their soft side walls, that help them hook up for drag use. Even their "Road Racing Competition Radials" were at the bottom of the pack with the data Grassroots gathered on them. They did admit they accelerated in the straight a little better than the others, but braked poorly. Typical. So if your looking for a damn fast street tire, consider that article your new bible. i did, and it paid off. As for wanli, if anyone ever udders the phrase "Wanli Tires are awesome!" or any variant of that, you have my permission to beat that person to death with any object available.
I understand that Nitto isn't a exspensive tire. Not everyone has the money to buy the best. As far as my current Nitto tires, if I can take a 95 degree turn going 65-70mph without any squeel or sliding...I'd say that the tire holds up pretty good, but that's just my newbie opinion!
EdgeRacing.com Pricing: Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 215/45R17 $92 Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 225/45R17 $99 Falken Azenis Rt-615 225/45R17 $112 Tire Rack: Kuhmo Ecsta MX 215/45YR17 $117 (Not worth it) these are not that bad priced, especially for the level of grip the deliver.
if you are getting winter tires, you dont need all seasons. stick to a decent ultra high performance tire for the non winter months and you will be much happier. not to dis your nitto's, but when you get on some nice tires you will notice the difference. shane listed some good tires that are cheaper in price.
No, if I sell my current rims and tires I'll be getting summer tires with new rims. And then for next winter I'll get winter tires and rims, hopefully by then I can just find some stock WRX rims for the winter.
wanli tires are a joke don't buy them. The falken's would be a better buy. Remember cheap things arent always good and good things arent always cheap.
