Wanted: Impreza tophats

I need Impreza tophats.

Wagon/Sedan/OBS.

Doesn't matter what year after 1994

Let me know what you have. I need them quick before my wheel falls off.

Yes, he needs them. For the safety of his children someone sell this guy some tophats so he can get springs/struts in

 

lol, the first time I realised what the issue was....I banned the wife and daughter from the car. ATM their Saturn is safer then this pile.

 

I might have two front tophats for you with about 60-70k on them if I figure out how to install camber plates I got (nut/insert bushing that goes on top has a larger tread then needed, and I have to saw/machine off about 5mm off it to use oem nut to secure the strut rod).

Hey Brian, thanks for the offer, I will keep them in mind but I will be honest, it is a little hard to justify $60 for just tophats....I know they are from an STi but I can't see any real HP increase from them LOL

So the 04 sti rears will fit your car? I think those are very similar to 95-99 legacy rears, and have those laying around somewhere. They are well used, with like 100k on them, but I'll give them away for free

 

nah, I got the 99 tophats on the car already, I dont know if they will fit the Impreza springs, i will find out tomorrow if they will or not. but I was under the distinct impression that they wont.

 

i got 4 top hats, or if you want I got all of my obs suspension still intact. pm me if you are interested.

Ok, so there was a slight bit of confusion as to what I need. Now I know I don't need to the strut mounts at all which I got from Brian. I need these....which I thought were tophats.

Need them to suit springs from an 01 Impreza RS....I believe WRX springs will work fine. My car is up in the air at the moment so the sooner someone can get me these the sooner I can hit the road again.

 

Its call upper spring seat. Are your springs tapered on top or not? I have two of these from a legacy, it has non-tapered springs.

the new springs are tapered. The springs and struts are from an Impreza. So the upper spring seat I need is from an Impreza also. The ones from my Legacy Outback will definetly not fit.

I'm in Duluth.

I was told that I would need strut mounts. I'm not sure why I would need these.

 

Hey, I have all the struts/springs/tophats from an 01' 2.5RS. I am using the springs out of them, but if you want/need anythign else from them, just let me know.

 

are you using the upper spring perches??? if not! I'll certainly lighten your load...if you are...oh well.

Although I'm guessing you are if you are using the springs.

 

Ummm, yeah, I'm pretty sure I did the install wrong on my car, cause the springs are in, but I'm still on the Legacy perches...this coudl be bad?

 

Have you tried driving it since the install? Not sure if you did that before or after you "immobilised" the car...for lack of a better term

 

No, i haven't driven it yet. I'm on Eibach Impreza springs, and everything else is all stock legacy...

 

If I remember correctly, you may be just fine. Do you recall if the springs were tapered or not? If the springs were tapered you will definetly need them. If they are not tapered springs then they will not fit.

I can have a set of those here by Friday but I really need to have the car running ASAP....like today if possible. But if you need them...you need them LOL

Man, if they do then I will be so thankful!....think you can score the bolts the keeps everything on top of the strut also? Just be ten times easier if can put them altogether instead of having to take the stock ones apart just to get that bolt LOL

 

Do you mean the nuts that thread onto the top of the strut? I've got an extra set of those.
