I was wondering how often does everyone wash there subie's? I wash mine every sunday if it's not raining, and sometimes once during the week too, if it rains. Does anybody wash more than that, cuz i feel alittle O.C.D. sometimes.

When I had access to a wash bay at a dealership, I used to wash twice a week. Now I'm down to just once a week. You're not that OCD.

I'm just like you. I did mine today. Washed it really well and put on the spring coat of Klasse All-In-One and one coat of Super Sealant Glaze.

When I had a black car, I'd wash it once a week... with the silver I don't really care anymore

    tips:

-Invest in a waffle-weave microfiber drying cloth or two as well as a wool shampoo glove, soft microfiber finishing cloths, and lint free cotton clothes at minimum. I also use a california water blade on my roof, hood, and windows.

-In the winter, use a few sprays of detailing spray with your shampoo. You won't need to rinse.

-In the winter, wax-as-you-dry is your friend.

-Mr Clean auto-dry really does work and is your best friend if you have a dark colored finish.

-Use a waffle-weave microfiber for drying... lay flat across a panel at a time and pull it in the direction the wind passes over the car... don't wad it up and dry in circles, you'll mar the hell out of the clear coat.

...I'm pretty OCD when it comes to polish/wax:

Every Spring, I'll bust out the porter cable and do a thorough, day long clay bar and 3-step polish, followed up by a pretty rigorous wax schedule.

For wax, I use Klasse SG (with a quick coat of AIO between the polish and wax) and let it set up over night, then I do a second coat a few days later. After a few more days I'll follow it up with a couple coats of carnauba (currently using p21s). I'll add another coat of carnauba every couple days for the next week or so and I'm good for the summer.

This is almost exactly what I do. 1st coat of SG is on. I clay in the fall (only once a year) and AIO every spring and fall. Later this week I'll throw on another coat of Sealant and then it's P21S time.

    I wish I had a PC.

Nice, I've tried a number of different combos, but really like the depth and durability of Klasse SG+p21s... plus the p21s is so easy to apply and remove.

You're free to borrow the PC anytime, just supply your own pads.

Maybe it was the products I was mixing, but I never liked zaino. Not deep enough and didn't last long enough for me. Post some pics and a review tho.
I think I'm gonna try Ultima this year if the p21s runs out.

There is good Zaino (stuff you find on their website) and bad Zaino (stuff you find at Target/Checker/Wal-Mart/etc.) Personally I do almost all my detailing shopping at autogeek.net and stick to Klasse, Menzerna, and P21S.

Same goes for zymol and pretty much any of those brands.

How do you like menzerna? I was thinking of switching from Sonus shampoo to menzerna in the winter... it's supposed to have pretty high lubricity.

I put maybe 50 miles a week on my car. So it usually doesn't need a wash but every month or so. Unless it rains.

You're thinking of zymol. Zaino only sells their stuff online.

For everyone else. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not going to lie, if it's not just as good or better then shibbs professional job i'm gonna be pissed. I dropped way to much cash on wax.

You are correct, sir. I am corrected.

My car now has two coats of sealant on it. Tomorrow the P21S goes on. I'll take some pics when it's done.

Oh, I need a porter cable.
But first I need a hose and a driveway.

Currently I use DIY washes, but do a bucket wash.

I use einszett in the winter, it holds up much longer.
In the summer, I try to uses P21S Paintwork Cleanser with 1 grand blitz wax and sometimes a clay bar. This is the first summer I can't do it outside of my house, and as its somewhat labor intensive, I don't know how often I'll be doing that.

When I first bought the car I washed her every week...now that I have some swirls and some dings and such, I knocked her down a notch..so I just daydream about motorcycles all day.

But once I get it detailed it will motivate me to take good care of her...So if anybody knows a good place... ;)

I just had mine done here at Lexus of Wayzata. Wow. It looks new again. BUT, its all dirty since the rain. haha

The list I have in front of me for complete exterior detail (Clay, polish, wax, shine) says $140.

I'll probably still wash maybe 2-3 times a month. I don't do much driving anymore.

So after around 6 hours of work, here's my $.02

I like how smooth it is, but the application is a bit different. They advise to use less then 1oz for a full car. I'm used to using a bunch of wax so I can see where I put it all. Because of that, I think I didn't cover everywhere. I ended up giving it two coats of wax, but I might go out there today and give it a 3rd. Some areas such as my doors are increably smooth. Other areas like my roof are not so much. Here was my process (per the directions on the bottles)

    1. wash car with dawn dish soap. That cleans off all the old crap on there
    2. claybar
    3. wash car with car wash
    4. wax with Z2 Pro + ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive
    5. Wait 45 minutes, then with a polishing towel wipe off
    6. Detail car with Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray
    7. wax again with Z2 pro + ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive
    8. Waited a full hour this time
    9. Another round of detailing with the Z-6

The wax did pass my "place a terry towel on the car and see if it will slide off" test. I think my biggest issue is I don't have enough light in the garage. If i had 2 more 24inch hangin lights I think i'd be able to see all the areas I did not cover as well.

If your going to buy this product, at minimum buy the Z2 pro and the ZFX Flash Cure. I bought their clay bar, Z6 gloss spray, and car wash.

I'd also recommend trying to buddy up with some people if you're going to make an order because their shipping it $8.95 flat rate, which kinda sucks if you're just buying wax.

Overall: My car does have the super wet look. Would I buy it again? Right now I'm a bit on the fence. I dropped a bunch of cash on this (granted i'm detailing a coworkers truck so that about paid for all the stuff I bought) and I'll be interested to see if the amount I spent really does last as long as the non-company reviews I've read. I will say this much, the applying and removing of this is WAY easier then anything else i've ever used.
